OUR STORY

Kevin grew up on Bend's westside and started framing homes young — what began as work turned into a craft he's spent over 20 years refining. KJS Construction grew out of that: a love for building things well, not just building things fast.

Kevin's background in fine finish carpentry shows up in everything KJS builds, right down to the custom furniture and stair systems made in-house. He's spent two decades building relationships with Central Oregon's best vendors and subcontractors, and knows the City of Bend permitting process better than most. His daughter Marley, an interior designer trained at Parsons School of Design with a Scandinavian influence from her studies in Copenhagen, partners with KJS to bring a thoughtful design eye to every project.

KJS Construction LLC is licensed in the state of Oregon (CCB# 189662). Over two decades of building in Central Oregon means we've built more than homes — we've built relationships with the area's best vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers, and a deep understanding of the City of Bend permitting process that keeps your project moving without surprises.

Above all, KJS takes a service-first approach. Every project starts with a simple question: what's the most appropriate approach for this client, this space, this goal? From there, we build.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe the best projects come from understanding what a client actually needs — not just building what's on a plan. We'd rather take the time to get it right than rush to call it done.

Meet the owner

Kevin believes the best projects begin with listening. Every client, every property, and every goal is different, so there has never been a one-size-fits-all approach to construction. His role is to understand what matters most, guide the process with honesty, and deliver work that reflects both the client's vision and the quality KJS stands behind.

Businesses we've worked with

Over the years, KJS Construction has partnered with homeowners, local businesses, architects, designers, and developers on projects throughout Central Oregon. The portfolio includes many of Bend's best-known restaurants, cafés, and commercial spaces, along with custom homes and renovations that continue to serve families for generations.

The Wood Shop

Behind every KJS project is a full wood shop where craftsmanship gets personal. We build custom furniture, modular fixtures, art pieces, and custom handrail and stair systems — the kind of detail work that turns a house into something distinctly yours.

Whether you're planning a custom home, renovating an older property, or building a commercial space, we'd love to learn more about your project and how we can help bring it to life.
